Four Podiums in Team Debut

Ottawa, Canada – Newly founded karting team Karting Konnections had a successful debut scoring four podiums including two wins this past weekend at the NCKC season opening event held at Karter’s Korner.

In the Honda Junior Heavy class, Nick Martin, NCKC 2005 champion, continuing where he left off from last season, swept both qualifying races to win the pole position for the final. Although Martin led wire to wire, the victory was never guaranteed. While under constant pressure from the second place drive, Martin maneuvered his Awesome powered Gold Kart to the victory. The young Martin will now be heading to Goodwood to test his skills against the best the SRFKC has to offer.

To keep a good thing going, Jason Bolton hung up the flags and relinquished his Race Director duties in order to return behind the wheel. Bolton showed little rust as he placed himself second and in great position for a shot at the win in the highly contested Honda Senior Medium class. From the green, pole sitter Corey Walsh assumed the point. Bolton pressured getting beside Walsh on several occasions but was never able to make the pass. Finally, with a little help from third, Bolton with a bold move to outside on the backstretch out broke the leader to take the point and never looked back placing another Awesome powered Gold Kart at the top of the podium.
